Over the last few months, we have introduced a number of our Learning Evolution team members. This month, we talk to Steve Ferenchak, the Development & Operations Supervisor at Learning Evolution.
Let’s get to know Steve better:
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
The thing I enjoy most about my job is that I get to learn something new every day. Anything related to technology is in a state of perpetual change and new ideas happen every day that require me to expand my horizons.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever heard?
I don’t know if it was the best career advice but I always try to incorporate “Work smarter, not harder” into my daily work, and personal life.
If there is a smarter, more efficient, better way to do something, it should be done that way.
What was your very first job?
My first job was bussing tables at the local Elks lodge at age 13. It wasn’t glamorous but it taught me some of the core values that I’ve carried with me throughout my career.
What is the last book you read?
The last book I read was You Don’t Know JS: This & Object Prototypes by Kyle Simpson. This guy goes so deep into various aspects of JavaScript. I don’t want to bore you with the details, but it’s helped me really understand a lot of the key things that I’ve taken for granted within my code.
